I'M GOING, ARE YOU?
Boom in registrations for Madrid
The enthusiasm caused by last July’s announcement of the Second European Social Days has been such that organisers have been forced to increase the number of participants. Beyond the 150 initially expected, the co-ordinators have had to accept requests from more than 30 delegates from European Bishops’ Conferences and church bodies resulting in a total of 180 registrations. So gathering in Madrid will be 77 delegates from 29 countries, 4 Cardinals, 19 bishops, 26 representatives of European church bodies, 40 delegates from the Spanish capital, as well as speakers and special guests...
Those unable to attend the gathering in Madrid will nevertheless be able to follow the plenary sessions through the live streaming on the website www.catholicdays.eu.
In Madrid, in addition to the ‘madrileno’ Cardinal Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the Hungarian Cardinal Péter Erdo and the German one Reinhard Marx will be present. Among the European ecclesial bodies we underline the participation of the Secretary General of FAFCE (European Federation of Catholic Family Associations) of the ICMC (International Catholic Migration Commission) and Caritas Europe; the President of the European National Laity Committees Forum and delegates of the European Christian Worker Movement and UNIAPAC (International Christian Union of Business Executives). Many other delegates of ecclesial movements and associations European and national secretaries of national commissions 'Justice and Peace', theologians and lay people involved in the social sphere.
